Greetings from Waldorf,
Maryland!
For those of you who are not familiar with this area, Waldorf is a Washington,
D.C. bedroom community, about 30 miles south southeast of Downtown Washington.
This area of Southern Maryland is bounded on the east by the Chesapeake Bay, and
on the west by the Potomac River. Consequently, we are smack-dab in the center
of the Worlds Best Blue Crab industry, and the widely acclaimed Oyster Capital
of the World. And I don't care much for either one!
My sister, Holly, who is the Reckeweg Family Genealogist, recently discovered
that we are related to the President of the United States (G.W.). That, plus my
mother's descendancy from Mary Queen of Scots, led us to create a new genealogy
page, which is still in the works.
Check back frequently to see how we're doing. (Especially if you are tracking
the Jasper and - or Yancy Families of Virginia.)
