Hellen Margaret "Peggy" Stockton, 81, of Clayton, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008 at Traces of Tiger, Bridge Creek Road, Tiger, Georgia 30576.
She was born May 30, 1926, in Washington, D.C., to Florence Ann Andrews and Allyn Capron Birch. She spent her working years as a homemaker, a secretary and a bookkeeper. She was active in the comunity, particularly with Clayton Baptist Church, where she was a member for nearly 60 years.
She was preceded in death by; a brother, Allyn Birch; a sister, Virginia Poole; and her husband of 56 years, V.D. Stockton.
Survivors include two sone, Lawrence Stockton of Clayton and Doug Stockton of Dalton; a daughter, Peggy Ann Richards of Raleigh, NC; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.Memorial services were held Tuesday at Clayton Baptist Church with the Rev. David Rogers officiating. Beck Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
